So is binge branding here or not? Read this dispatch from the intrepid Shelly Palmer at CES 2015.

"T-Mobile is boosting video consumption offering free online video bingeing (“Binge On”) from 24 powerful content providers including Netflix, Hulu, SlingTV, WatchESPN, Crackle, and the like. It’s no wonder that your smartphone battery is always dying: In 2015, the average US consumer spent 3 hours and forty minutes per day on mobile … a thirty-five percent increase over 2014.

Video viewers are continuing their migration to time-shifted and on-demand services. The numbers paint a very clear picture — only sports and some live events remain “appointment TV.” Viewers are watching more video than ever; Netflix, for example, is quintupling the amount of script shows it offers in 2016. This spells danger for traditional modes of content delivery."

For both b-to-c and b-to-b marketers, this is far beyond the adoption of a sales automation suite. This demands seamlessly linked content, optimized for mobile, driven by a campaign idea. This the coach potato gone wild.

Here is why it matters:

1) Increasing session time with users (in business or consumers) requires endless streams of stimulation. Repeat 10x.

2) Stimulation is an emotional response; what people feel about you is more important than what they think. Sorry, but its true.

3) Terms like "relevancy," "utility" and "helpful" are popular with content marketing experts. None of this sounds very stimulating, does it?

4) To stimulate and hold a prospect's attention, therefore, you need to craft a whole heaping mess of emotionally rich work driven a singular "truth."

How big is the opportunity? You could drive a tractor through it.
