Here is a rationale for writing and reading from Andreessen Horowitz. “When you read an important idea and put in the work to understand it, you gain the subconscious competence and legitimacy to talk about it: you are transformed into someone with more power.”
Their blog continues by saying that reading now is disproportionately more important than listening to podcasts or sharing “what you read,” which is what I am doing right here.
Yeah, so what?
Usually, I write about an idea I generate independently, and because every idea is the son of many mothers, I put multiple ideas to work when I work things out.
That makes me incredibly powerful. Right, Marc?
